Nintendo is one of the leading console developers with having successfully sold multiple gaming consoles ranging from the NES to the brand new Nintendo Switch with amazing success. For over 3 decades, Nintendo has been the leading developer of handheld gaming consoles thanks to popular handheld gaming consoles like the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS.

Nintendo Consoles are family friendly with a focus on children as their main demographic while providing great games and content for adults as well. While Nintendo consoles don’t offer any multimedia benefits such as playing Blu-ray movies or even DVD movies that matter they have an exceptional lineup of games that appeal to gamers of all ages. The Nintendo DS is to date one of the best portable gaming consoles alongside the home game console Nintendo Wii.

Nintendo’s new gaming console is a hybrid between home consoles and portable consoles which has yet again put in the spotlight of success. Even though the Nintendo Switch is underpowered compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, it makes up for it with its portability and by providing an abundance of first party games like Mario Odyssey and Zelda Breath of The With.

The Nintendo Switch main console is a 6.2-inch 1,280 x 720-pixel touchscreen device that can be controlled with two detachable controllers called the Joy-Con that are attached on both sides of the touch screen unit. It comes with a dock that can be used to run games on a TV at higher resolutions and better performance. It uses a 4x ARM Cortex A57 Processor with 4GB Ram which is half of what the base PS4 and Xbox One offer but considering it’s a portable gaming console it’s impressive nonetheless. The base storage is 32GB but can be expanded using a micro SD card.

Nintendo also offers players a paid online gaming membership along with a dedicated mobile app to connect with friends and play their favorite games together. The Nintendo Switch also supports a wide variety of third party and first party hardware to enhance the player experience.

Since its launch, Nintendo Switch has already outdone the Xbox One in terms of popularity and is regarded by as many to be the main competitor of Sony now.
